“SERCOM Plus” Working with you – for you
South West Response have teamed up with the Devon EMS-AmbFAS Service Commissioning [SERCOM] Team to provide a peninsular wide Event Service Planning and Brokerage Team [SERCOM-Plus]
The new team comprising of individuals experienced in event planning and provision including NHS Professionals experienced in providing medical care within the events industry with input from other agencies as indicated.
SERCOM Plus will work with you and for you in assessing the appropriate level of cover for your event based on experience and the Purple Guide in order to supply you with the best cover applicable to your event at what we consider to be a reasonable and affordable price.
During the consultation and planning stages we will work closely with you.
Whilst smaller events require only minimal planning with service provision often being the remit of a single provider and who will deal with you direct, with SERCOM Plus undertaking a basic monitoring role, the same is not true for larger events which may involve more regular contact with you as an Event Organiser, liaison with other agencies and extensive plans which will be required by Public Safety Advisory Groups and licensing authorities.
Brokerage and Supply
For smaller medical events in the east of the region the Service Provider will be the South West Response General Event Team and for the west of the region AmbFAS or for small community events in Devon the service will often be provided by Devon EMS.
Where specialist resources are required such as a full event medical centre this will be via South West Response who will going forward operate the service on behalf of Devon EMS, which will also include Clinical Support operating under a Devon EMS Governance, plus an Event Welfare Service if indicated.
Event Ambulance Response and Transportation will be provided by AmbFAS who are CQC registered, Logistics plus Command and Control will be provided by Devon EMS. Event Security [where indicated] will be provided by an appointed external provider or South West Response.
Normally medical cover will be provided by South West Response, AmbFAS or Devon EMS or a combination, however Devon EMS-AmbFAS will also from time to time use the services of Peninsular Medics or Matthews First Aid Services of Dartmouth, so other approved secondary providers may also input.
For all events SERCOM Plus will not only appoint providers but also key managers/leads who will at the actual event be your first point of contact.
